Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam [02/06/2026 - 11/06/2026]
Sadly, the first trip I can report on for this blog will be a work trip. The company requires me to be in Utrecht from the 3nd to the 5th of June, and then in Rotterdam from the 9th to the 11th. I've already seen these cities. I've already slept in these hotels. There wasn't an awful lot to like. It is after all the Netherlands. However, I am aware that having to work can cast a shadow over what could have been nice experiences.
When I started working, I promised myself I wouldn't travel adhering to the tedious station/airport-hotel-office-hotel-station/airport-template, criminal crucible for one's character. I vowed I would see the places I went to, regardless of how inconvenient it may prove. I vowed I would do stuff. Utrecht and Rotterdam are challenges, presenting a depressing combination of hotels outside the city center, and long and tiring working days. I will try to balance out this mind-numbing ordeal with a weekend visit to The Hague, a new experience.
